How Big O Tires Helped Waylon Comply with the New Traction Law
Did you realize that there's a new law that requires motorists to have at least 3/16" tire tread depth, chains, or an AutoSock during designated winter storms? In addition to that 3/16" tread depth, you must have one of the following:
- 4WD or AWD vehicle
- Tires with a mud and snow designation (M+S icon)
- Winter tires (mountain-snowflake icon)
- Tires with an all-weather rating by the manufacturer

Do you know how deep your tire treads are now? I was completely unaware of this, but the tires on my car were well below the legal limit in Colorado. Check out the difference:
Big O Tires is giving away a free tread check ruler that will help you determine if your treads meet that 3/16" threshold, and they are happy to help you make sure your tires are ready for winter's worst in general. I've been doing business with Big O since 1988 — for 32 years. I've always found them to be the type of local business people who tell it to you straight because they are our neighbors and fellow community members.
So, be sure to stop by one of the Big O Tires locations for your free tread check ruler, and if you need new tires, don't forget that, through Dec. 20, you can get up to a $70 reward card on select sets of Michelin and BFGoodrich tires. Tell 'em I sent you!
