Children skiing or snowboarding this Saturday (January 30) at Powderhorn Mountain Resort have the opportunity to receive a free ski helmet thanks to two organizations.

For the second year, Kohl's Cares and St. Mary's Foundation are donating helmets as part of their ongoing campaign to keep kids safe.

Jodi Greenwood registered nurse and trauma coordinator for St. Mary’s Hospital says,

It is great to see the how the community continues to support keeping kids safe and equipped with proper helmets through the St. Mary’s partnership with Kohl’s Cares® Hospital Program.”

The event starts at 9:00 a.m. at the Powderhorn Lodge. Children will be fitted with the proper helmet on a first come first serve basis.

Parents with children that need helmets are encouraged to show up early as there are a limited number of free helmets available.
