Two Colorado Escapees Still at Large
Two inmates are still running free after breaking out of jail last Sunday in Westcliffe, Colorado.
According to CBS Denver, authorities say the men overpowered a guard and locked her in a cell. They then took the deputy's radio and keys to a 2017 Toyota Sienna minivan. They've been on the run since Sunday night, January 12. The guard was not seriously injured.
The men are identified as:
- 39-year-old Jerry Williams (pictured left)
- 30-year-old Bryan Webb (pictured right)
Williams was in jail on an attempted murder charge, while Webb was charged with assault on a peace officer.
CBS Denver reports Webb was able to make his way to his parents' home in Walsenburg, but before long, he made his way on down the road.
Okay, this is embarrassing for a native Coloradoan to say (I've been here so long I still use 'Coloradoan' instead of "Coloradan'), but I haven't a clue where Westcliffe is. You'll find the town 235 miles east of Grand Junction, not far from Canon City. Now I'm really embarrassed. I drive this route all the time. According to the 2010 census, the town boasts a population of 568.
Please keep your eyes open for these individuals. Needless to say, if you see them or have contact, please get in touch with law enforcement immediately.
