The Worst Criminals In The Country Are Sent To Colorado

The most heinous criminals in the U.S. are housed at the most forbidding prison in the land.

Known as Supermax, or ADX this facility was designed to be escape-proof. And with its location and the strict environment there, it so far has kept its reputation.

Which is a very good thing, knowing who they have locked up in there.

Take, for example, Terry Nichols. Nichols was an accomplice in the Oklahoma City bombings and will serve the rest of his adult life at Supermax. As will Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the man behind the Boston Marathon bombings. Additionally, Theodore Kaczynski, the Unibomber, and Ramzi Yousef, who attacked the World Trade Center in 1993.

Now one more name has been added to the list. Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the drug lord who has escaped prison twice will now spend the rest of his life in Colorado.

Inmates and wardens have described Supermax as "not designed for humanity,” “It’s not designed for rehabilitation. Period. End of story.” The cells are small and made of poured concrete. Inmates are allowed outside their cells for one hour per day. Nearly everything else is done inside the cells, including religious services, which are put on closed-circuit tv.

It's not a place designed for rehabilitation. These men go there to spend the rest of their lives for the crimes they have committed.  And that's where they belong.
