With the new snowfall every year, it's time to revisit the 'Legend' of the Bear and Swan.

The Bear and Swan mean different things depending on where you live. For example, if you are in Chew Magna, England the Bear and Swan is a highly rated restaurant and pub known for their yummy steak specials.

But here in the Grand Valley, it's seasonal talking point. It signifies both the start of winter and the beginning of spring. As the legend goes, when the swans neck 'breaks', spring has officially arrived.

Different people may see different 'snow animals', but mainly it's the bear and swan. There has been a debate on the far left image. I see a hawk. Others say it's a turkey.
