Not to mention amazing live entertainment shows like Disney on Ice, WWE, MMA, Harlem Globetrotters, and beyond. The name Budweiser Events Center has become synonymous with awesome live events in Northern Colorado. That's all going to change this fall though...
Budweiser Events Center Changing Names In October
It was announced this week that after 20 years, Budweiser would no longer be the holder of the naming rights to the Larimer County-owned arena when their current contract with the county expires this fall. Beginning this October, the arena will be re-branded as the "Blue Arena" in conjunction with a new partnership with Blue Federal Credit Union. In a press release, Blue's President and CEO, Stephanie Teubner said:
As a well-known staple in Northern Colorado, we are thrilled and honored to partner with Larimer County and to have the Blue name on The Center. Blue has been serving communities for 70+ years, and we’re proud to be a key partner in this exciting project that will benefit our members and the community. We are confident Blue Arena will not only serve as a community gathering space but also as an important economic driver for the area.
Blue and Larimer County finalized the deal with County approval today, Tuesday, January 31st so this is 100% official and moving forward. Much like other famous Colorado Stadiums and Arenas, the name may change, but the memories are something we'll never forget, and that's what truly matters. Thank you Budweiser Events Center, it was one heck of a ride. Cheers to the future of the new Blue Arena!
