40 people who made marijuana part of their business plans in Colorado have been arrested as part of a police raid Thursday morning.

Police said the suspects allegedly moved to Colorado from Texas and bought houses for the purposes of growing marijuana in and shipping out of state to sell. Approximately 30 houses and warehouses in the Denver area were involved in this raid.

This was no overnight police raid. This is the result of an investigation of a year and a half by the North Metro Drug Task Force, The DEA, U.S. Postal Inspectors, and the Colorado Attorney General's Office.

Even though Colorado has legalized the use of medical and recreational marijuana, it is believed that these marijuana operations were outside of the law.
