Drowning

Sunday afternoon a child was swimming at Cherry Creek Reservoir when someone realized they couldn't see the child anymore. Emergency crews were called and they found the child submerged underwater.

Winter can be unforgiving in Colorado. In this case, both the predator and prey became the apparent victims of that harsh reality with both being trapped in an icy reservoir.

Authorities recovered two bodies from two different areas along the Colorado River in Grand Junction Sunday (July 18).

Bears are usually thought of as predators, but, in this case, a bear shows he is the life-saver as he save a bird from drowning.

Earlier this week we reported that the Mesa County Sheriff Department found a body in an irrigation canal off 17-1/2 Rd. The body has been identified as 34-year-old Donald A. VanMatre of Grand Junction.
