Some of the best memories I have are of Strawberry Days in Glenwood Springs.

For 122 years the fruit with its seeds on the outside has been celebrated in Glenwood Springs and this year will be no different, although things have changed in 122 years.

Every year on the third weekend in June the Strawberry festival draws people from all over for fun, entertainment and all things strawberry. And it all gets underway today (Friday) with more fun events scheduled throughout the weekend.

Check out the parade on Saturday then enjoy free strawberries and ice cream! And on stage enjoy music from the 6 Million Dollar Band, Stray Grass and more. Enjoy a cold one in the beer garden, and of course, Miss Strawberry days, only the longest running of its kind west of the Mississippi. Miss Strawberry days has gone from a beauty pageant to a scholarship competition and the honor of representing Glenwood Springs.

Parking around the venue is extremely limited but you can park for free in town and spend a buck to catch the bus.

A great way to spend the weekend.
