You might be surprised to know that Fort Collins requires solicitors to obtain a permit to sell door-to-door. In fact, a lot of communities in Colorado require one to do business in neighborhoods.

The Fort Collins law requires compliance from commercial solicitors with the following conditions:

• Companies doing door-to-door soliciting must apply and receive a permit from the city before conducting any business within Fort Collins.
• Individual solicitors are required to complete a criminal history check.
• Permitted solicitors must wear a photo ID badge.
• Hours of solicitation are limited to 9 a.m. to sunset.
• Sales to locations with a "No Soliciting" or "No Trespassing" sign are prohibited by commercial and non-commercial sales.
