Stop Complaining There is No Snow — Be Thankful

Everywhere you go in Western Colorado, you'll overhear residents and their concerns over the lack of any significant snowfall on the radar.  However, have you stopped to consider to bright side?

You and your friends could spend your day trying to turn an engine on the narrow gauge railroad between Montrose and Ouray, just like these poor dudes in 1950.

How would you like to try and land a plane at Grand Junction Regional Airport in this mess?

You could be making your daily commute through this.

I don't recall every having fun doing this.

Riding the train can be fun.  However, riding the train in the middle of Winter through the Western Colorado mountains can be a nail-biter given certain conditions.

Winters can be rough nowadays, even with our modern methods of snow removal. Imagine making the trek across Western Colorado in the days before snowplows.
