Mazda's new joint campaign with upcoming movie Star Trek: Into Darkness, states "It takes conviction, creativity, and courage to re-imagine a classic." This, of course, is in reference to the redesigned starship Enterprise. Mazda and Star Trek have teamed up to boldly present the new 2014 Mazda6.

According to Mazda,"Every inch of the 2014 Mazda6 has been re-engineered to deliver breathtaking style, road-grasping responsiveness and game-changing performance."

To further sweeten the deal, the new 2014 Mazda6 gets and estimated 38 miles per gallon on the highway. We aren't entirely sure what kind of fuel economy the Enterprise gets, but it must be pretty sweet.

Try as you may, it is a little difficult to find much in the way of similarities between the design of the 2014 Mazda6 and the new version of the Enterprise.

They aren't event the same color! Not only that, but when one looks at the new Enterprise, they don't exactly see "road-grasping responsiveness." The thing doesn't even travel on roads.

Seems we'll all have to go see Star Trek: Into Darkness when it opens next month to find out what they're talking about.
