As someone new to Grand Junction, when I ask about haunted places in town, I get a handful of answers. One that has come up a few times in conversation is the St. Regis Building over at 4th and Colorado.

The St. Regis Building went up in 1892 and was remodeled in 1904 when it opened as the Grand Hotel. In 1908, it was renamed the St. Regis Hotel, and by 1936 this spot became one of the first places in Grand Junction to be called a cocktail lounge.

For a building pushing well past its 130th birthday, the St. Regis has stuck around in more ways than one. It kept the lights on through the uranium boom of the 1950s, when the bar business became its main moneymaker, and it earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places back in 1992.

These days the ground floor is home to the Feisty Pint, and the building houses about a dozen tenants total. Downtown Grand Junction also has old tunnels running underneath it, said to connect several of these historic buildings, which only adds to the eerie reputation of this stretch of Colorado Avenue.

Was a Ghost Spotted at the St. Regis Building in Grand Junction?

The Regis Hotel gets mentioned as a haunted location in town, and a video captured by KEKB FM years ago seems to add some proof that something strange is definitely going on in certain areas of that building.

Flip through the photo album below to see a dark shadow that seems to move about on its own near a doorway that appears in a surveillance camera, and decide for yourself.
