A strong storm out of northeastern Colorado made its way to Summit County last night. A winter weather advisory was in effect until just a few moments ago (noon today).
At present, a handful of area ski resorts remain open in Summit County. Loveland reported seven inches of snow, while Arapahoe Basin reported six inches.
What's so exciting about snow in the Colorado mountains? Isn't it supposed to do that? Well, yes. The excitement is due to the fact the winter season for 2017-2018 has been such an overwhelming dud. Many counties in Colorado are already at "Exceptional Drought" conditions. Fire bans in Mesa County go into effect tomorrow.
Is this the end of snow in Summit County this season? Not necessarily. Tonight's forecast calls for a chance of rain and snow showers for Summit County.
