Spring Brings Scams To The Grand Valley
Springtime seems to bring out more than just flowers and leaves on trees. It also means scammers are out and about, trying to take your money. Or worse.
From siding to windows to landscaping, there are always people out trying to rip you off. And now comes a story from Orchard Mesa that there are landscapers out trying to earn your business, but looking to rip you off instead.
How do you avoid getting ripped off? Well, there are a few ways you can protect yourself in case someone offers something that sounds too good to be true.
First, ask for ID. If they are seriously looking for work and not to rip you off, they will have their id for you to check out. No ID, no work.
Call the police to see if they are a legitimate business or if anyone has reported them.
Ask your neighbors to watch your home when you are away and offer to do the same for them.
Go with who you know. It may be a little more expensive, but you will save in the long run.
Be aware that these scammers will try to gain access to your home and your valuables any way they can. Taking the time to make sure you are protected can save you a lot more than money.
