Simple Steps to Deal with Worry and Anxiety
Government shut downs, the kids, the monthly budget, my relationship. STRESS! Worried and don't know what to do? Here are some simple steps that help.
Set aside a designated "worry time." I suggest two times per day, for example at 10:30 am and 3:30 pm. So if you notice you are worrying at 1:00 pm, tell yourself you have to wait until 3:30 pm to worry. And then, only for 10 minute.
Accept the worry -- and then move on.
Keep a Journal of just your feelings. No one has to see this but you! I keep a notebook by the bed just for this reason and it works great!
Cut yourself some slack. This is universal, I rarely have a client where I don't suggest they take it easy on themselves. We are our own worst critics.
Get your heart pumping. Even just a simple walk does wonders!
