Sears Set to Close 3 More Stores in Colorado
Grand Junction said goodbye to the long-running Sears store at the Mesa Mall late last year. Now, early in 2019, Sears announced they will close three more stores in Colorado.
Sears announced they will close 80 stores across the country by late March 2019. Closing stores include both Sears and KMart. According to Martketwatch.com, the three Colorado stores affected are:
- Sears 2050 Southgate Rd, Colorado Springs
- Sears 1650 Briargate Blvd, Colorado Springs
- Sears 3201 Dillon Dr, Pueblo
I was upset to hear about the Grand Junction store closing last fall. It's hard to count the number of appliances and tools my family purchased there over the years. Not only that, one relative and a very good friend both made careers out of working for Sears. Fortunately, both had retired before that round of store closures.
It's heartbreaking to hear about such events. We all know that things change, but it is still difficult to watch this happen. With any luck, the recently announced attempt to save the retailer will have some effect.
