Sad news today from just outside Berthoud Falls, Colorado. The body of a popular Denver preschool teacher has been found following a week-long search.

Searchers located the body of Peter McInerney, a teacher at Children's Center at Park Hill United Methodist Church, near Jones Pass. His vehicle, covered by snow, had been found last week near a trailhead in the same area.

Search teams suffered setbacks this last weekend. According to Paul Woodward, mission coordinator for the Alpine Rescue Team, searchers faced below zero temperatures and 60 mph winds on Saturday.

McInerney failed to show up for work on February 20. According to, parents at the school received a letter from administrators stating McInerney had "never been so much as late for a day of school." The letter also said he enjoyed "solitary cross-country skiing."
