Grammy Award-winning Country act Rascal Flatts just announced their farewell "Life is a Highway" tour. That's the bad news. The good news - that tour will bring them to Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheater.

The band made the announcement earlier this morning (Tuesday, January 7) on "CBS This Morning." They announced they would mark their 20th anniversary in the business with a four-month farewell tour.

When we started out 20 years ago, we could not imagine all of the people, places and gifts we would encounter. As we head out on the Rascal Flatts Farewell - Life is A Highway Tour, there is no sadness. Just new chapters, new journeys, and new beginnings." Rascal Flatts via Twitter

Will Colorado get one more chance to catch the guys in concert? Yes, we will. Rascal Flatts will bring the "Life Is a Highway" tour to Red Rocks Amphitheater on October 7, 2020. As of today, January 7, tickets for the Red Rocks show are not yet available.

Dreams do come true…and we are three walking examples of this truth. I’m most proud of the fact that we’ve pursued our dreams together and with courage, hard-work and dedication we’ve been able to cultivate our dreams into reality, it’s simply incredible! There’s no doubt we have been blessed way beyond belief and we can’t wait to spend the rest of 2020 expressing our love and appreciation to all of our devoted fans, music industry friends and our families for believing in us and playing a major role in our path to here. And, I personally can’t wait to shine a light on my brothers Jay and Gary this year, and make another mountain of new memories with them.” - Joe Don Rooney.

So... I'm going to go ahead and be the bad guy and ask the big question: Is this "farewell" tour going to turn into another Fleetwood Mac or KISS perpetual "farewell" sendoff? If I sound a little cynical, it's only because I've been burned before. As a radio announcer, you can easily wind up with egg on your face when a band announces a farewell tour, and the entire thing ends up being a marketing and publicity ploy.

Rascal Flatts has always been a fantastic act to work with. They treated Western Colorado concert fans like royalty a few years back at Country Jam. Do you recall when they took all the Meet n' Greet fans backstage and gave them a private acoustic concert? That's the real deal. Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney have always been some of the straightest shooters in the business. If they say this is a farewell tour, I'm inclined to believe them.

Don't miss this chance to see them one more time. Rascal Flatts is one of the better touring acts on the circuit, and I think you'll agree, Red Rocks is one of the best venues in the nation. Here's your chance to enjoy the best of both worlds with one great show.
