[UPDATED:] Plane Crash on the Grand Mesa Kills Three Local Men

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, a single engine aircraft crashed on the Grand Mesa Thursday (December 12) killing all three men on board.

UPDATE:  The Mesa County Coroner have announced the victims of the plane crash that occurred on the Grand Mesa. The pilot was Dana Brewer, 49, of Clifton and the passengers were Richard James "Jim" Platz, 47 of Fruita and William Kennon, 47 of Collbran.

Full autopsies should be completed by tomorrow.

The cause of the crash remains unknown, and officials from the Federal Aviation Administration are en route to Mesa County from Salt Lake City, Utah to investigate.

The three males aboard the plane have been accounted for and their families have been notified. The Mesa County coroners office will release the identity, and cause and manner of their deaths.
