I saw this story yesterday and thought how sad these statistics were . . .

According to a new Pew study 1 in 5 of American's and 1 in 3 adults are "Nones". This term is “nones” is often used to describe people who have no religion or do not belong to any particular religion.

Now in my opinion this isn't a big deal in itself as long as they have some type of relationship with God and have accepted Jesus Christ as their savoir.

I don't think you HAVE to attend church to go to heaven but I do think it helps you lead a more Christian life and provides support for the struggles we all go through.

I think part of the reason people don't are no longer claiming an affiliation is due to the lack of knowledge in the various denominations: Baptist, Christian, Catholic, Episcopalian, etc. etc. and to make it even more confusing there are various branches of denominations as well; for instance there are over 60 different Baptist denominations like Southern, Free Will, Fundamental and Gospel just to name a few!

I thought it was interesting that out of the 46 million people with no affiliation:
o 68% believe in God
o 58% feel a connection with nature and the Earth
o 37% think of themselves as "spiritual" but not "religious"
o 21% pray daily

My husband and I began attending Church on a regular basis the Easter that Dalton was born. We felt it was important to be able to guide him as parents to live a good life. We visited many and have finally found one we are going to call home. If you're searching for that too, come join us at 10:30a Sunday's at Orchard Mesa Baptist Church (Southern) on Orchard Mesa at the corner of B 1/2 & 27 1/2 Rds!

We also offer a couples group every Thursday at 6:30.

A Food Pantry from 10a to 2p Fridays, except the first Friday of the month. Donations are taken Monday through Thursday or Saturday from 8a & 5p. HUNTERS: Don't forget you can donate your meat!
