A look back at some past April Fools Day pranks here at the station, and a plea for your help to decide what we should do this year!

I've been in radio for years now and I can remember quite a few that were really great, but here are three that really got some attention.

One year my partner, Mike Noble & I told our listeners that NASA was shuttling the space shuttle from one coast to another down I-70 piggy backed on a plane, and that at a specific time of day you would be able to step outside and see it go over. Well little did we know that businesses and schools would actually fall prey to our hoax and shut down. Needless to say the aftermath was not worth repeating anything this dumb again!

  • Another year my partner, The Loud Guy & I told the public that the town of Cameo was holding it First Annual Parade. We had people calling in to pretend they were officials on location and listeners driving by would play along with the farce which perpetuated the whole hoax for hours. We actually had enough people believe us, that we had to send someone out with free t-shirts for the people stopping to watch a non-existent parade!
  • This Aprils Fools Day joke was not one I had a hand in but one I got a good chuckle out of. One of the local morning shows spent the entire morning telling the community that their new station bumper stickers had a coating on it that made you invisible to stop lights cameras. So many people stopped by to get one, they actually ran out of stickers!
  • I'll be honest I've never pranked a friend or a family member so I'm really no good at this type of stuff, that's why we need your help figuring out what to do this year. Place your suggestions below!
