Palisade Plunge Trail Construction Continues

The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly turned the world on its head in many ways. Many Coloradans have had their hours cut or are out of work completely, and of course, we're encouraged to refrain from leaving our homes unless absolutely necessary. However, one project is still in the works, and that is the construction of the Palisade Plunge Trail.

The trail will eventually connect the top of the Grand Mesa to the town of Palisade and is designed to give backcountry cyclists amazing views and a very unique rush of adrenaline.

The Palisade Plunge trail is currently 12.64 miles long, with crews working diligently to finish the trail by its planned date. This would mean that roughly four more miles would have to be completed by the spring of 2021.

However, despite construction continuing as planned, the project is not without its setbacks due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Because of Colorado's 'Stay-at-Home' order, crews working on the trail must stay in Mesa County for the duration of their time working on the project, and no new crew members outside of the county are allowed to join.
