Old Fall River Road in Rocky Mountain National Park is usually open by the 4th of July, but not this year.

According to a press release from RMNP, Old Fall River Road's opening is delayed due to late-season snow, as late as June 23, 2019. However, it's expected to open by Saturday, July 13 — weather permitting.

"The road is currently closed to all uses, including bicycles and pedestrians, Tuesday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and open Saturday, Sunday and Monday to bicycles and pedestrians," RMNP said. 'This schedule will continue until the road opens to vehicles.'

Old Fall River Road is a winding, narrow, one-way dirt road leading to Trail Ridge Road, which was also forced to close shortly after opening for the season due to snowstorms.

Old Fall River Road plans to close for the winter on October 7, 2019. More information is available here.
