The Western Slope has drawn a lot of attention this year from both the Democratic and Republican parties . Mitt Romney paid a vistit to Basalt this last Thursday and President Barak Obama plans to visit Grand Junction this Wednesday at 2:30 pm at the Grand Junction High School Auditorium.

Romney has visited the Western Slope three times in the last year. Right before  GOP’s presidential preference poll, Romney paid his first visit to Grand junction. His second visit came last month when he rallied at Central High School and as mentioned before, Mitt Romney made an appearance in Basalt just last Thursday (Aug. 2).

President Barak Obama will also make his third appearance to Western Colorado, his first was back when he was  a Presidential Candate in 2008 and was hosted by Cross Orchards Living History Farm. His secod visit wass a town-hall conference at Central High School where he discussed health care back  in 2010.

History has shown that Western Colorado is  primarily a Republican favorite.  Colorado is also a swing state this year and there are a significant number of liberals that are catching the eyes of the presidential candidates.
