Hey, Waylon... Why Do You Care?

My birthday is April 30. I always enjoyed believing I shared a birthday with the legendary Willie Nelson. A number of years ago, talk emerged regarding the discrepancy with his birth date. That bummed me out. I want his birthday to be on the 30th.

Life According to Willie

Fortunately for us, Willie Nelson has addressed the issue. According to KOKE FM, Willie explained to SiriusXM he was actually born on April 29, 1933. Why the discrepancy? The county courthouse in Abbot, Texas didn't record his birth until the next morning.

How does Willie feel about this? It seems neither Willie nor his family was too concerned about the matter. Rather than stressing, they just celebrate his birthday on April 29 and 30.

I'm Still Going to Celebrate On April 30

Well, darn it. It seems April 29 may have to be recognized as the "official" date. Regardless, I'm still going to celebrate on April 30.

How's Willie going to celebrate in 2023? I think we all know how Willie is going to celebrate.
