After being involved in a hit and run accident over the weekend, a local school principal has been placed on administrative leave.

School principal at Mount Garfield Middle School Hal Templeton, will now have to report to Mesa County Justice Center November 7.

The police report stated that Templeton was travelling on Broadway at approximately 80 mph when he slammed into the rear end of a Toyota Tacoma. Two female passengers were inside this other vehicle. Both sustained what was called “evident, non-incapacitating” injuries.
