Mesa County School District 51 will start kindergarten registration, also known as Kindergarten Roundup, on Thursday, April 25at neighborhood elementary schools.

Families with new kindergartners are encouraged to take the time to register and become acquainted with the school before the kids begin the 2013-2014 school year.

Each individual elementary school has specific times for registration and/or special events they may be hosting on April 25. As a result, parents are encouraged to contact specific schools to find out all the necessary information.

For anyone who is unable to attend registration events on April 25, registration will continue through the end of the school year.

Children must be five (5) years old on or before September 15, 2013 to attend kindergarten in the fall. Also required for kindergarten registration, parents need to bring the following information: child’s birth certificate, child’s social security number, immunization record, emergency phone number, and proof of residency in the attendance boundary of the school.

If parents are unsure about the school associated with their attendance area, the information can be found on the Attendance Boundaries page of the School District’s website (http://www.mesa.k12.co.us/).

For more information, contact the respective school or call the School District 51’s Executive Office of Elementary Schools at 254-5311.
