Mesa County Needs More Foster Homes
Mesa County foster children are in dire need of homes. Hundreds of kids who simply want a loving place to live.
You could change a child's life and yours with one loving gesture. Reports are that there are 71 foster children just in the 81501 area code of Grand Junction alone. With only four foster homes. That math does not work. Clifton is worse, the area contains around 40 children in need and not one single foster home.
Overall in Mesa County, there are approximately 300 kids waiting for a foster home. Officials from the Mesa County Department of Human Services stated they try hard to keep as many kids in the area as they can, but it's becoming almost impossible. If more homes aren't found locally, our Mesa County kids will have to be sent to outside locations that can provide for them.
If you have ever thought about becoming a foster parent, right now is the time to learn about the program. Contact the Mesa County Department of Human Services at 970-248-2794 or the Ariel Clinical Services at 970-245-1616.
