Apply Now to be a Mesa County Artist in Residence for 2021
Are you an artist in search of a steady gig right here in Western Colorado? If so, the Mesa County Library is accepting applications for the 2021 artist in residence program.
The program will accept three artists in 2021 for terms of roughly 14 weeks each. Selected artists must occupy the studio at least six hours per week, and will work with library staff to provide at least three library programs during the residency.
Who's eligible? The 970West Studio Artist in Residence program is open to artists 18 and older residing in Mesa County. Applicants must also have a valid Mesa County Library card. Artists from a variety of mediums will be considered.

Have you toured the facility yet? It really is quite impressive. The Mesa County Libraries 970West Studio is located at Fifth Street and Ouray Avenue in Grand Junction. I had the chance to attend the open house during its grand opening. The studio features:
- 654-square-foot studio/training room
- 436-square-foot control room
- 245-square-feet for the artist in residence
