McMuffins Contribute to Capture of Dog Abandoned Near Montrose
One of three dogs believed to have been dumped at the base of the Uncompahgre Plateau has been rescued. How was this achieved? McMuffins had something to do with it.
The Montrose County Sheriff's Office released a message via Facebook with the good news regarding the capture of one of the three abandoned dogs. MCSO Deputy Bennet was able to rescue the female German Shepard. Tactics utilized included:
- 4 Egg McMuffins
- 3 cans of wet food
- 14 hours of effort
My mom once rescued a dog with the use of a Twinkie. The dog had been abandoned near the casino in Cortez, Colorado. Recognizing the dog was starving, my mom successfully lured the dog into the car with an irresistible, scrumptious, cream-filled, yellow sponge cake Twinkie.
Yesterday (Wednesday, February 12) the Montrose County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook photos of three dogs they believed to have been dumped. They shared this piece of information:
Dumping animals is ILLEGAL and if discovered (once an investigation identifies the owners), the owners will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. - MCSO via Facebook
Regarding the female German Shepard they were able to catch, the MCSO said, "She is skinny but will be in good hands at the Montrose Animal Shelter."
