Not only is it gross and disgusting but pretty irresponsible but when you're out in the wilderness and you gotta go...you gotta go and if you do you ABSOLUTELY do not want to dispose of your waste in a mountain stream....simply irresponsible.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials tweeted that a man was caught dumping human waste from his camp latrine into a mountain stream in the higher elevations of the Rockies.

The man was issued a court summons where a judge will decide the fine. Just a friendly reminder that the great outdoors and in particular mountains, streams and rivers are not personal toilets.

It's dangerous to both animals and humans when human waste is deposited in these natural areas and should NEVER be an option.

Whether you're going for a day hike or a camping trip, preparations need to be made to avoid polluting our environment.

Look, when you're out in the mountains and the wilderness there aren't many toilets just hanging around nearby and when you gotta go, you gotta go, but if you're going, make sure you're doing the responsible thing and keeping our environment and great outdoors clean and safe for all.

There's actually a book about it and our friends at REI have some helpful reminders for you as well.

Pack it in, pack it out.
