Mama Moose Charges Female Elk to Protect Baby at Rocky Mountain National Park [PICS]

A mama moose decided that a female elk got a little too close for comfort at Rocky Mountain National Park, resulting in a clash that a Colorado native caught on camera.

The moose mom protected her baby and charged the female elk.

We talked with Mike Eastop, the man who captured the incident:

"We’ve had a cabin in the Grand Lake area for almost 25 years and take advantage of how close we are to the RMNP and visit as much as we can. We never get used to the beauty of this state or the park and the animals. I have NEVER seen anything like this confrontation! It was thrilling."
