It’s been almost 30 years since the last Mad Max movie (Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome) hit theaters in 1985, and almost ever since then director George Miller has been working on a sequel. Shooting in the Namibia desert during a drought, all the stunt work in Mad Mad: Fury Road is real. Miller said he wanted as little CGI in this movie as possible and for a movie that is essentially one giant car chase, that meant almost every day on filming (which lasted over six months) was a big stunt day. The production shot so much footage, they had 480 hours to sort through once the editing process began.
