It's a boy for Love and Theft's Eric Gunderson, who is expecting his first child with his wife, Emily, next spring.

The 'Runnin' Out of Air' singer broke the news with a statement to the Boot, sharing, "I'm so excited to have a boy! Emily would be happy either way, but I've been secretly planning father/son hunting and fishing trips all along."

Adds the proud papa-to-be, "I might even let him try his hand at guitar, although, you know those musicians are a handful."

The happy couple revealed their pregnancy to Taste of Country last month, and are expecting Baby Boy Gunderson on May 18 -- just weeks after the two will celebrate their third wedding anniversary. The singer married Emily, his then-longtime girlfriend, in a romantic Henderson, Tenn. ceremony in April 2010.

"My wife is very patient and supportive," Gunderson says of his beautiful bride. "She was my girlfriend from the beginning (of Love and Theft) and has watched us grow and grown with us ... I couldn't ask for a better wife. I'd be like a lost puppy without her."

Gunderson will no doubt remain busy leading up to the birth of his first child. Love and Theft is set to wrap their road responsibilities opening for Jake Owen later this month, just days after the duo will compete for Music Video of the Year: Group or Collaboration for 'Angel Eyes' during the second-annual American Country Awards ceremony.

The duo will continue to promote their new single, 'Runnin' Out of Air,' well into 2013. The R&B-influenced track is the radio follow-up to the duo's breakthrough No. 1 single, 'Angel Eyes.'
