Montrose just hosted the annual Unknown Motorcycle Show. If you weren't there, you really missed out. Here's the afterglow of last Saturday's (August 15, 2020) awesome event.

Western Colorado has hosted a version of this event for over a decade. The original show ran for a couple of years at Gateway Canyons Resort. After two years it moved to downtown Palisade. This year, for the first time, it moved to downtown Montrose.

I've been involved with this event in one degree or another for all but the first year. It's hard to be objective, but I'm not sure this year's event wasn't my favorite. The setting in Montrose was perfect.

Collectors and motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the place came to downtown Montrose to show off these amazing bikes. Spectators enjoyed American bikes, European, British, Asian, Rat bikes, project bikes, and more.

It's hard to say, but the number of bikes registered in this year's event may have been a little light compared to previous years. On the other hand, this year's artwork and custom paint jobs were unmatched. Take a look at the gallery below and you'll see what I mean.

Bikes came in from all over Colorado. Some owners rode their bikes in, while others towed them in. It is allowed to show several bikes if you choose. One collector hauled in several bikes from Denver.

In addition to the bikes, the event hosted live music with the Desert Flyer Band. Stop and think about that for a minute - awesome motorcycles, live music, family fun, all at the low, low price of FREE.

The coordinators of the Unknown Motorcycle Show have stated the event will return next year. The plan at this time is to keep it in Montrose. If you're a motorcycle enthusiast or collector, you may want to give serious thought to entering your bike in this show. Prizes are awarded in several categories, including People's Choice.

Armed with my dumb-phone, the cheapest money can't buy, I snapped a few photos. If you were at the event, take a second look at these amazing bikes. If you did not attend the event, here's a look at what you missed.
