It's time to think about prom in the Grand Valley and it's always helpful to know where you can find prom-wear cheap.

But free is even better.

Coming March 23 and 24, local seamstresses will be gathering in the main ballroom of the Elk's Lodge, 249 So. 4 Street in Grand Junction.

All you have to do is come out, pick out what you want to wear and get it altered right there, all for free.

The only stipulation is the prom-goer attend a local school. No income verification, no hassles, and no discrimination. Prom is stressful enough, why stress about what to wear?

Cheryl's Alterations, Alterations by Carla and Apryl March are lending their considerable skills to assure the prom dress or tux picked out makes the wearer feel like a million bucks, and all at no cost.

Some folks like to at least donate and if that's you, please feel free to do so, but make sure you come out and make prom that much easier.

For more information, you can call Cheryl's Alterations at 970-424-8868, Alterations by Carla at 970-260-4222 or Apryl March at Apryl March 970-773-4822.

And if you have promwear you would like to donate, especially plus-sized garments, make sure you give these folks a call.

Let's make prom even more special this year for everyone!
