Mesa County Resident Earns State Award

Congratulations to this Mesa County Sheriff's Office employee.

The 2015 Public Information Officer of the Year has been given to Mesa County's own Heather Benjamin.

According to this article, Heather was hired on by the Mesa County Sheriff's Office back in 2007 as it's official spokesperson. Since then, she has expanded her role to include many more community outreach programs for the Sheriff's office, through several outlets and social media platforms.

Mesa County Sheriff says that the award shows the innovation and commitment that Heather has for her job and that they couldn't be more proud.

Plus, she never saw it coming because the nomination submission was anonymous. But, someone knows. I guess it'll be their little secret.

Again, congrats Heather. Well deserved.
