Holmes has not yet entered a plea in the case where he is charged with killing 12 people and wounding 70 on July 20 in a theater in the Denver suburb of Aurora. His lawyers say that their client suffers from a mental illness.

The point of the preliminary hearing is to find out if their is enough evidence to put Holmes on trial. The Judge will decide if both sides can move forward with the case after evidence is submitted today.
