Just a few weeks ahead of the season premiere of The Voice, Kelly Clarkson's new talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, made its debut. On Monday (Sept. 9) the former American Idol winner kicked off her own show that was packed with laughs and some famous faces.

Comedian and The Office alum Steve Carell took the stage to introduce the Grammy-winning singer, armed the laughs the comedian is known for. During the introduction, Carell seized his opportunity to mimic his famous scene in The 40-Year-Old Virgin where he screams Clarkson's name as he is getting his chest waxed.

After being introduced, Clarkson sang a Dolly Parton classic, "9 to 5."

The singer greeted her audience and told them how much she loves people, specifically connecting with them, before making it a point that while she got in trouble for it in high school, she is earning money for it now.

Clarkson's first guest on the show was wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson — an originally unplanned appearance, as the actor was in the middle of his honeymoon when his friend and fellow actor Kevin Hart got into a car accident and could no longer make his guest spot. So, Johnson stepped up.

"These things happen in life, and thank god he was strapped in tight to his car seat," he joked. "We spoke to his pediatrician, and he’s doing very well. He’s bummed he couldn’t be here as you know, but I love the guy, he’s one of my best friends. Thank God, it could’ve been a lot worse. He’s a lucky man. I wish him the best."

Clarkson first confirmed that she would be receiving her own talk show last September when she sat down with late night host Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. Fans of music are encouraged to stay, and those who are not fans of music, Clarkson suggests that they shouldn't watch.

"It’s very musical, as well,” she says. “It would be weird it wasn’t! If you don’t like music you probably shouldn’t watch."

The Kelly Clarkson Show airs weekdays.
