Over the past few years, Colorado has also had its fair share of speed demons who try to test the boundaries of safe driving.

Fort Collins Driver Gets Clocked Going 103 Miles Per Hour in a 40 Miles Per Hour Zone

Not long ago, a person in Fort Collins was caught going 103 mph in town. To some, that may seem like easy numbers, especially on the highway.

However, this daredevil was not whizzing down I-25. No, they were flying at 103 mph while on a street with a posted speed limit of 40 mph. We definitely wouldn’t recommend doing that.

Thornton Driver Gets Caught Going 128 Miles Per Hour on I-25

A while back, police in Thornton clocked somebody flying down I-25 at a whopping 128 mph.

Not only is this a truly insane speed, but it wasn’t like this was a spot on the interstate that’s 75 mph. This driver was racing at 128 mph in a stretch of I-25 that is just 55 mph, a full 73 mph higher.

Colorado Springs Driver Gets Clocked Going 139 Miles Per Hour on Highway 24

Back in August, a man was racing down Highway 24 going a ludicrous 139 mph. It was reported that the unidentified motorist was also weaving in and out of traffic as he was speeding to a truly excessive degree.

However, that’s not even the best part. After getting pulled over, the man tried to pull out the excuse that he was late for work, hence why he had to drive so fast. I don’t know about you, but any workplace that forces you to drive 139 mph to make it in time probably isn’t a healthy work environment.

For the daring and frankly dumb maneuver, the man was hit with a mandatory court appearance and had a whooping 32-point citation.

Colorado Motorcyclist Gets Clocked Going 168 Miles Per Hour in Lakewood

This offense dates back to 2020, when the highways were much clearer of traffic. Sure, the motorways were less congested, but it also meant people felt they were more inclined to drive at extreme speeds.

In March, 2020, an officer out in Lakewood clocked two motorcyclists racing, with each going well above 100 mph. While one was going 128 mph, the other made that number look like chump change, flying down the street going 168 mph.

Not only was this person going far too fast, but they also didn’t stop for the police. Once you’re at that speed, I would imagine it would be tough for anyone to catch up to you.

Finally, a Man Claims He Got Off With a Warning After Going 190 Miles Per Hour in His Lamborghini in Colorado

Yep, you read that right, a full 190 mph in a souped-up Lambo. The man in question is named James Teague, whose warning slip got posted on the Corsa America Rally social media page. The warning was for going 125 mph over the posted 65 mph speed limit.

However, this claim is somewhat dubious. Teague has been seen in a couple of different places bragging about the warning he received, including on a video with ALTITUDE on YouTube.

When 9News reached out to the Colorado State Patrol, they did not corroborate this story. They said it didn’t happen at all. They said he asked for the warning as a memento after stopping to ask them for directions.

After 9News told Teague CSP did not agree with the events he listed, he reeled back his claims a bit, saying he didn’t want to go against local authorities.

If true, it is easily one of, if not the fastest speeding tickets ever recorded in Colorado. However, the shady nature of the story certainly leaves a good deal of doubt.
