Red Rocks Amphitheater is a truly magical place. Not only is it considered by many to be the best music venue in Colorado, some claim that it's the greatest in the world.

That being said, it may come as a surprise to you that numerous tales of paranormal activity have come out of Red Rocks Amphitheater, as well as the trading post at the base of the venue.

Ghosts of Colorado's Red Rocks: The Haunted Trading Post

Many of the stories of paranormal activities surrounding Red Rocks come from the Trading Post. Formerly known as the Indian Trading Post, there's a good chance you've walked past the old building on the way to an amazing concert.

However, former employees have reportedly seen, heard, and felt all kinds of scary things, especially at night or right around closing time.

There have been reports of merchandise going missing regularly at night, doorknobs jiggling, boxes flying across the room, footsteps, heavy doors opening on their own, windchimes moving with no wind, sudden drops in temperature, hands brushing up against employees, scratching noises, and more.

Interestingly, one story that comes from the Red Rocks Trading Post claims that souvenir mugs reading the name "Randy" have a tendency to fall off the shelves and break pretty regularly.

While the Trading Post sounds like it's pretty haunted, it's stories of paranormal activity from the rocks themselves that will chill you to the bone.

Ghosts of Colorado's Red Rocks: The Hatchet Lady

The scariest tale from Red Rocks is that of the Hatchet Lady, a spirit said to scare visitors by coming out of caves naked or riding a specter horse, holding a bloody hatchet. Legend has it that this spirit is very protective of the Red Rocks and will torment anyone that isn't respecting them.

If that's not scary enough for you, the Hatchet Lady has also been reportedly seen without a head at times.

Needless to say, it's of the utmost importance to be respectful of Red Rocks' natural beauty while visiting, otherwise, you may find yourself in for a terrifying experience.
