Thomas Edward Luther was convicted of killing 20-year-old Cher Elder in 1993 after giving her a ride from Central City casino and burying the remains in a shallow grave near Empire, Colorado.

Elder was far from his only victim as not only had he brutally attacked two other women, but he also bragged about committing more murders prior to his conviction.

Colorado Serial Killers: Vincent Groves

Vincent Groves, a pimp residing in Denver, was said to have killed at least seven people between 1979 and 1988 and after a twelve-year prison sentence, was paroled in 1987.

However, DNA evidence saw Groves convicted of two more murders and he was given a life sentence in 1990 where he eventually died behind bars.

Groves is believed to have killed over 20 people in total.

Finally, Scott Lee Kimball was originally convicted of four murders in Colorado and Utah, but while in prison was granted a supervised release in order to serve as an informant for police who were investigating a drug ring.
