Scramble Campbell: A Colorado-Based Artist You Need to Know About

Ask any Coloradan what their favorite music venue in the state is and unless they admittedly have never seen a concert there, you're most likely going to get a response of "Red Rocks."

Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a truly magical place, especially during a concert, and if you've been to a number of shows there it's pretty likely that you've spotted a guy dancing around to the music while painting on an easel. That guy is Scramble Campbell.

Who is Colorado's Scramble Campbell?

Keith Campbell was born in New Hampshire in 1964 but spent much of his youth growing up in Florida. Always an artist, Campbell became inspired by Leroy Neiman, an artist who painted live at events and began making his beautiful creations at concerts, including Woodstock '94.

Campbell eventually got married and moved to Colorado in 2004 and around the same time, was named artist-in-residence at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

While Red Rocks undoubtedly serves as a sort of home base for Scramble Campbell, he continues several traditions of attending and painting at plenty of other events including New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, NedFest, and Telluride Blues and Brews Festival, to name a few.
