Colorado's newest large-scale music venue, Ford Amphitheater in Colorado Springs, celebrated its grand opening with a three-night run of concerts from hometown heroes OneRepublic.

However, what can only be presumed to be the same local residents who tried to halt the venue's construction two years ago became incredibly vocal about their disapproval, filing a massive amount of noise complaints over the weekend.

Colorado Springs Residents File Noise Complaints Against New Venue

Ford Amphitheater, originally set to be called Sunset Amphitheater prior to the Ford Motor Company purchasing the naming rights, officially opened on August 9, 2024.

However, despite following all of the rules put into place by the City of Colorado Springs including adhering to a curfew of 11:30 p.m., local authorities received a whopping 144 noise complaints as a direct result of the three-day concert series.

It should be noted that all 144 of these noise complaints filed came from the same neighborhood, leading some to believe that the barrage of complaints was part of a premeditated plan.

Additional evidence to support this theory made headlines roughly two years ago when residents of this same neighborhood fought to halt construction of the 8,000-seat music venue citing things like noise and parking as reasons for the opposition.

Unfortunately for the peeved neighbors of the new venue, Ford Amphitheater followed all of the guidelines given to the venue by the City of Colorado Springs and although the 144 complaints can be considered a valiant effort, they weren't enough to stop the venue from hosting future concerts.
