One study that was recently released could be considered part of the disappointing category as a website known as Brilliant Maps has ranked every county in the United States on a scale based on excessive alcohol intake.
What Are the 13 Drunkest Counties in Colorado?
Of all the counties in the state of Colorado, 13 were found to have a percentage higher than 21% when it comes to excessive drinking.

The top 13 drunkest counties in Colorado are as follows:
- San Miguel County: 21.03%
- Lake County: 21.11%
- Eagle County: 21.7%
- Boulder County: 21.71%
- Grand County: 21.84%
- Adams County: 22.23%
- Summit County: 22.5%
- Garfield County: 22.51%
- Routt County: 22.95%
- Jefferson County: 23.07%
- Larimer County: 23.33%
- Gunnison County: 24.17%
- Denver County: 24.92%
All but two of these counties are above the Colorado state average for excessive alcohol consumption at 21.41%, with Denver County claiming the title of the drunkest county in Colorado at 24.92%.
Interestingly, another recent study named the college town of Boulder, Colorado, as the drunkest city in Colorado, but Boulder County didn't crack the list of the top 13 drunkest counties in the state. One might argue that many of the residents who are responsible for that unfortunate title are college students who end up moving away after graduation, and it could also be argued that other towns in the county, like Longmont and Nederland, tip the scale.
