Popular Colorado Ski Area Put on Sale
It’s hard to believe, but in less than a month at this point, summer will be coming to an end. To be exact, the last day of summer will be on September 22nd.
Sure, we’re going to miss many of the awesome activities that make summertime great. Many people are also going to miss that extra daylight you get each summer.
However, while many people are starting to get bummed the weather is going to start to cool down, others are counting down the days until they can get back on the slopes.
It’s no secret that Colorado has some of, if not the best skiing in the entire country.
Whether you’re going to Steamboat, Vail, Breckenridge, or a multitude of other places, there’s almost too many elite places to be able to choose.
However, it would appear that one of Colorado’s most popular ski areas is about to go up for sale.
Eldora Mountain Put Up For Sale By POWDR
Eldora Mountain is one of Colorado’s most iconic, and quite possibly underrated, ski areas.
Opening all the way back in 1962 and located near Nederland, it is an extremely close drive for many people on the Front Range, particularly if you’re in Boulder.
Back in 2016, there was a pretty big sale when the company POWDR, who owns Copper Mountain and many other resorts and experiences, bought Eldora Mountain Resort.
Just eight years later, however, it would seem that they already are done running the ski area.
In a measure that they said was meant to balance their portfolio, which has included more ventures into National Parks, along with an action sports park, they are putting the property up for sale.
The company had recently sold a property in Vermont, but is also putting up resorts in Canada and Oregon for sale as well.
Will Eldora Mountain Be Open for the 2024/2025 Season?
While POWDR is putting up the properties and resorts for sale, fans of these locations can breathe a sigh of relief.
The answer is yes, Eldora will be open for the 2024/2025 season.
In fact, POWDR will continue to operate not just Eldora, but each of the resorts on sale until someone buys them.
