Longtime Colorado Brewery Makes 2 Big Changes to Enjoying Their Taproom

There are many, many, small craft breweries in Colorado, including High Hops in Windsor. The craft brewer has seen lots of success and accolades regarding their beers; things have definitely "settled down" when it comes to their taproom, however.

Northern Colorado Brewery Makes Changes to Taproom Operations

I'll be honest, while I work in Windsor, I haven't really been into High Hops for a 'hot minute" as they say. I've gotten away from drinking craft beers, so they've fallen off my radar.

I used to have a coworker, and we would hit them up once a week to enjoy a few beers and conversation; whether inside or out on their deck area. If my buddy still lived here, I may have seen the changes that they've made sooner.

High Hops Brewery began in 2012, as an off-shoot of the successful The Windsor Gardener on the west side of town. I remember how exciting those first few years were: Lots of people, lots of laughs, a few kids, maybe some cornhole going on, live music on the stage.

These days, things are much, much, more subtle than they used to be. Given that they've had the taproom, connected to their nursery, for over a decade, you might be able to understand how "things' just ran their course for the taproom.

High Hops Brewery Seriously Reduces Taproom Hours

It could come down to staffing, or just wanting to shut everything down at the end of the day; but today you'll find the taproom only open (generally) Noon - 6:00 p.m. You can purchase their package beer (and spirits) but no enjoying "on premises" until Noon, except on Saturday and Sunday.

On the bright side, they are open every day, whereas there was a time they were closed on Mondays.

Those Who Are Not 21+ Are Not Allowed in Designated Areas

Whereas years ago, you'd find parents and their kids out on the west side of High Hops (parents enjoying beer, kids enjoying fun.) those days are over. Of course, there may be more behind this, but here we are.

Parties with guests under the age of 21 will not be seated.

 

Live Shows Very Limited at High Hops

Get out on Saturdays during concert season for two hours of live music.

I know all about how "things change," that's for certain. It just gives me a little sadness to see High Hops being different now.
