Black-Eyed Pea Returns to Fort Collins With Snazzy New Look
While Coloradans enjoy supporting small businesses and dining at local eateries, there's something about a longtime favorite chain returning after so many years. That's the case with Black-Eyed Pea coming back to Fort Collins after over a dozen years. Generations have enjoyed Black-Eyed Pea; with them back in The Choice City, further generations can as well.
Bloomin' Onions Give Way to Shepherd's Pies
In 2021, after nearly 30 years, Outback Steakhouse shut down its Fort Collins location along Harmony Road near Lemay. Five years after that, an Australian steakhouse became a new Black-Eyed Pea. Gauging by the amount of people that I saw when I visited, the place has definitely been missed. Once I sat and ordered a chicken fried steak, I knew that I was one of those who'd missed them.

It must have been convenient for Black-Eyed Pea when they heard that Outback Steakhouse had left; the building had a great location, was big and had decent parking. I wonder how long it took, between Outback closing and Black-Eyed Pea staking claim on the location. I also wonder who else might have wanted to be a 807 East Harmony Road and are now bummed that they didn't get it.
Not Like the 'Old' Black-Eyed Pea on College
The new Black-Eyed Pea in Fort Collins, I'm guessing is not a whole different than other newer ones. However, it is a lot different than the Black-Eyed Pea that was along College near Target for all those years. Their motto is, "Comfort Food, Reimagined," and it does feel that way. While it still resembles Outback Steakhouse on the outside, inside it has the feel of a trendy, fancy restaurant that serves Black-Eyed Pea menu items. It's fun.
