Filmmakers can get a tax credit with up to 20% covering qualified expenses, or 22% if these production teams use "local infrastructure, rural or marginalized urban areas," according to the Office of Economic Development and International Trade.

Who's Starring in The Token Groomsman?

In a report from Deadline, several major stars have already signed onto this project.

Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland, Twilight star Taylor Lautner, and country superstar Kane Brown are all set to play key roles in the movie.

This will actually be the latter's feature film debut.

What The Token Groomsman Is About

Entitled The Token Groomsman, the movie will follow Lautner's character as he sets off to be a groomsman at a destination wedding in Italy. The twist is that he doesn't recall WHO exactly the groom is.

Brown will play Lautner's "best friend and moral compass friend," Neil.

Director Natalie Simpkins said,  "Kane brings something so unique. He has a rare mix of vulnerability and magnetism that’s incredibly compelling.”

Reports confirm that production will start later this year.

Retinue Media: A Colorado-Based Production Company Behind the Film

Retinue Media production company will be spearheading the romantic comedy. This company is actually based in Colorado right around the Highlands Ranch/Littleton area of Denver, according to the Better Business Bureau. 

Other Colorado Projects from Retinue Media

This Colorado based company had a hand in the film Killer Witches from Outer Space (2024) which was actually shot in Colorado Springs, according to IMDb.

The co-owners of the company John C. Hall and Pam Renall are reportedly set to act as producers on this Kane Brown project.
